With a ground breaking 125x optical zoom, the new Nikon P1000 is a digital telescope. The new Nikon P1000 is equipped with a lens which has a massive equivalent focal length of 24mm-3000mm! The good news is that the lens is equipped with Nikon’s “Dual Detect” imagine stabilization. This makes the P1000 an attractive option for low light photography.

Nikon P1000 is a digital telescope

The Nikon P1000 gets you even closer to the moon with its massive zoom range which extends all the way to 3000mm equivalent and that is exactly why I keep saying that the new Nikon P1000 is a digital telescope. The lens features a maximum aperture of f2.8-f8. The maximum aperture value at the telephoto end is pretty slow and might be a deal breaker for many. But One cool thing about this camera is its emphasis on manual control. The Nikon P1000 has a refined button layout, with emphasis on direct manual operation over the P900.

See how Sony is hitting on Canon and Nikon really hard![2]
